The idea of Alt UK
Right, so you've stumbled across my site then have you? Well consider yourself lucky my son because Alt-UK is set to become one of the best sites in the country. Set up way back in August of 2002, the idea of the site was to promote up and coming bands from the UK that deserved recognition but just didn't seem to be getting it. I didn't think there were enough sites around supporting the unsigned and underground bands of the UK so saw this as my opportunity to change things. I set up this site to promote Ska, Rock, Hardcore, Punk, Emo and Metal bands and along the way I have picked up other styles of band such as Industrial, Thrash and even Indie! |

The story so far...
The site took off to great success, shaking up the UK scene and I started to develop a long list of bands on the site. By the September of 2002 the site was fully in action and had already got a few band profiles up on the site, and a hadful of reviews. The hits started to roll in and the number of bands on the site began to increase.
Some of the first bands to be added to the site were Spankboy (now Solabeat Alliance) and Uncle Brian who have since become talked about names in the UK. The word of Alt-UK started to spread and since then there has been no going back for me, the site has had the honour of working with some great bands since it started running such as No Comply, King Prawn, Solabeat Alliance, Uncle Brian and Mr Zippy and I would like to thank these bands for the support that they have given this site and not just dismissed it. Your help has been greatly appreciated and the word of Alt-UK is still spreading like a fart on a bus. With 100 reviews fast and 15000 hits fast approaching, Alt-UK is set to become the site that everyone will be talking about in 2004. Since becoming a .COM, Alt-UK has had even more visiotors and many more bands added to the site and hopefully the visitors will continue to storm in and the site can develop further still in to more areas such as Interviews, Gig Listings, and maybe even News.
