It really started when in late 1999, Ellis Banfield decided he would emulate his hero Steve Harris and play the Bass. He, it is fair to say was a fast learner and began to show passion for the bass, and much like Harris decided the bass deserves to be at the forefront of the bands sound. After jamming with a few friends, noticably Jay.k, who really helped his development, he formed the then unnamed Enraged Monkey with friend and muse Anthony Andrews.

Anthony was already an experienced musician, having played in several bands, such as BNS, Haribastards. He was and is a guitarist who always plays with passion, and committment and proves to be an inspiration for all the other members. After the break up of BNS, Ellis invited Anthony for a jam. They went over a few Rage against the Machine songs, and decided that there was potential there.

A drummer wasnt hard to find, as Ellis' cousin Richard King had been playing drums since the age of eight, and was 'kin great! Richard had been in a few bands since Enraged Monkey. Starting off in 1999 with CO Centric, including current Bad Year bassist Scott. After this split he went on to drum for Benson 4 before joining Anthony and Ellis in Enraged Monkey.

After a few practices, the band decided a second guitarist was needed, and in came Mike "dookie" Stow, a compentant guitarist, with a big red axe.

Yet something was wrong, the balance in the band was altered, and although the bands songs increased in number, the chemistry was lacking. Mike left, and after a long break, two guitarist emerged. William Jim, a friend of Ellis and Ant's was proving an overnight guitar sensation.

However, major internal injuries within the band resulted in the neutral departure of bassist Ellis, although there were no hard feelings.

But out of the flames the phoneix rose as seen on the message board, with the arrival of two new members; former guitarist Stow on bass and Hannah as vocalist.

Its still early days at the moment but the new line up feel a more relaxed attitude is going to be needed. This ball was started rolling for the new line up by making it clear what songs wanted to be played from the start.

Some more swapping around with the band line up returns Mike to his powerful riffs and bassist Scott Lewis enters to complete the line up with his distinctive bass licks.

However, the band dispands in September 2001 but 7 months on the 4 decide that what they had was good but what they could have would be better and so decide to reform.

After several months of tuning and refining the band calls upon the vocal talents of one Warren Forster to complete the line up.

Warren is familiar with the bassical stylings of Scott lewis having stood alongside him as singer/ guitarist in Then i rode it again and also having the aid of Rich for several gigs.

Crobin created.

The band plays their first gig with the current line up in late November 2002 at the Queen Vic pub in Herne Bay, Kent and came away pleased with their performance. Gear!

December 20th sees the band second gig at Dance Court School in Broadstairs where they played the sixth form review.

The band says farewell to their place of practice in December 2002 - Westgate studio, where it all it all began in 1999. Several weeks pass by before the band is able to find a new practice room but spirits remain high as more gig prospects come up.
