This is the new album from female fronted mellow rockers 27. It is an 11 track affair from the Undergroove Records ‘rockers’ and to promote it they are going to be touring throughout August and September with Johnny Truant and 3 Stages Of Pain to try and convince people that it is worth their hard earned cash.

Right, thuis really isn’t my thing as 27 are a female fronted melodic rock band – and when your personal motto is ‘the more bit the better’ it’s never going to be your cup of tea! The music which they create is very slow paced and this could be part of the reason that it just doesn’t appeal to me. 27 are probably the mellowest band that I have ever heard in my life – with slow paced, melodic female vocals to go with the slowly played instruments. At times on this CD o thought that the band were going to stop but somehow they managed not to and just about kept going for the whole thing. There are the most bizarre of tunes on this CD, the first bonus track for instance ‘Animals On The Farm’ starts with about two minutes of farmyard animal noises before any actual music starts at all – strange. Even when the music did finally start it just made me laugh at it as they were just singing about what its called – ‘Animals On The Farm’ – pretty uninspiring stuff but oh well, at least it does what it says on the tin!

They finally show a sign of life at the start of ‘One More Tomorrow’ (the second bonus track,) which kicks off with a bang (of a drum) but then seems to disappear back into unbelievably slow mode and you start to realise that the pace is never actually going to speed up a single notch, not in a million years.

So, this is a good CD for you if you have problems getting to sleep at night because after 5 minutes of this you’ll be well away! However, if you like any sort of speed in your songs steer well clear of this band and definitely avoid this album. Even an Emo fan would see this as a step too far in the pace stakes because even though Emo songs are quite slow paced – they never come this close to stopping!
