Ok, here we have a single from the latest band to take to the scene, Kubrick. This is a new single that shows off their mixture of aggression, melody and emotion and each of these three tracks provides a different sound.

The first track here, ‘Reverie’ is a nice little number with melodic vocals to compensate for the hard edge of the guitar and drum playing. This is an interesting track, but is not really my thing as it is a bit too emotional for my liking and I prefer the harder edge but nevertheless, it is done well with awesome, stormy guitars and fast drumming. The vocals just don’t suit my taste but they are not done badly and is probably the best song to have picked for the single as Emo tends to appeal to more people than hardcore so there you go. Track 2, ‘How To Lose Friends And Alternate People’ is a live acoustic track and as you can imagine is extremely mellow and laid back. Although it is mellow and not usually my choice of listening, it is still done extremely well and I actually quite like it so well done to them here for creating a song so good that it converted me! You can really feel that it is live and the vocals are done exceptionally well. It is quite quiet up until about half way through where it suddenly becomes loud, so not the best of recordings but it is live so what do you expect. The last track here, ‘Reverie(Captains Of Industry Mix)’ is absolutely amazing and just totally blew me away! It is a pretty sick tune and is a deadly remix of a song which was vocally lacking. The old lyrics have been replaced with some rather more heavy, distorted lyrics and mixed with the great guitar and drumming that they already had with this one makes way for an astounding track and one which I have listened to many a time and will be listening to a hell of a lot more times too.

So there you have it, a three track single released on Rocket Science Records and its one for Emo fans out there really, unfortunately the only kind of Emo I like is Emocore so not really one of my favourites but the remix is cool and a lot, lot heavier and really appealed to my taste.
